Now that SGB is no longer issued after Union Budget 2024, the only way to buy SGB is via the stock exchange. So unless you already hold SGB in some form, you need a demat account and place orders based on the discount available on SGB vs. its price.

The easiest solution for getting the latest value of the SGBs in your portfolio is to use the portfolio tracker function of the Arthgyaan goal-based investing tool. There is no charge for using the portfolio tracking feature. All you have to do is enter the SGB ticker in column E and the number of units you hold in column G in the assets tab of the sheet.

Important: SGB prices are not available if that bond did not trade on a particular day on the NSE. In such cases, the value shown will be zero.
